Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution — Pitch Black Booster Box
The Pitch Black Booster Box is one of the headline sealed products of the Pokémon Trading Card Game's Mega Evolution era, and arguably the most hunted display of its release window. Built around the long-awaited return of Mega Evolution mechanics to the modern TCG, this box pairs two of the franchise's most beloved dark-type powerhouses — Mega Darkrai EX and Mega Zeraora EX — in a single, collector-grade booster display.
The Return of Mega Evolution
Mega Evolution first electrified the Pokémon TCG during the XY era (2014–2016), introducing the dramatic one-turn power spikes that defined competitive play for years. After nearly a decade, Mega Evolution revives the mechanic for a new generation of players and collectors. The Pitch Black set leans into a darker, moodier aesthetic — black-bordered card treatments, foil-heavy chase cards, and special-illustration rares that have quickly become grail targets.
What's Inside the Box
- A full sealed booster display, factory-shrink-wrapped from authorized distribution
- Multiple booster packs per box, each a chance at Mega Darkrai EX and Mega Zeraora EX
- Art Rare, Special Art Rare, and Ultra Rare pull potential throughout the print run
- Ideal for collectors building a master set, resellers, and break/rip content creators
Why Collectors Want It
Dark-type Pokémon have a uniquely passionate collector base, and Mega Darkrai EX in particular sits among the most requested chase cards of the year. Sealed Pitch Black boxes are widely expected to appreciate once the print window closes — a pattern seen repeatedly with marquee Pokémon displays. Whether you intend to crack it for the chase hits or vault it sealed as an investment, this box represents the center of gravity for the Mega Evolution release.
